‘Deadpool And Wolverine’ hit screens on Friday (July 26) much to the delight of fans and collected an impressive Rs 27 crore on the first day. The superhero flick also received favourable reviews with critics lauding the performances. The positive word of mouth helped the biggie pack a punch on its first Saturday (July 27).
‘Deadpool And Wolverine’ Stays Strong On Day 2
The Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman-led ‘Deadpool And Wolverine’ opened in theatres on July 26 amid fanfare and emerged as the choice of the younger audience. It collected Rs 27 crore on day 1 to become Hollywood’s best opener in India this year.

The film continued to wreak havoc at the box office on July 27. Ramesh Bala, a trade tracker, told News X that ‘Deadpool And Wolverine’ is expected to collect around Rs 33 crore on its first Saturday.
“The gross will be around Rs 33 crore and can even go up to Rs 35 crore. It is doing well in the metros and the dubbed versions are on fire in the interiors, especially in Tamil,” he added.
‘Deadpool And Wolverine’ faces no competition in most markets as there are no major no releases. Moreover, holdover releases such as Indian 2 and Sarfira have run out of steam. The Marvel film has released alongside ‘Raayan’ in Tamil Nadu. The Dhanush-led actioner, however, caters to a mass audience and not an urban one.
What’s ‘Deadpool And Wolverine’ About?
The third installment of the ‘Deadpool’ franchise, ‘Deadpool And Wolverine’ is a superhero flick from Shawn Levy. Set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it revolves around the events that unfold when Deadpool teams up with The Wolverine to take down a formidable foe.
Ryan Reynolds plays the “Merc With A Mouth”. Hugh Jackman, on the other hand, essays the role of The Wolverine. The Wolverine seen here, however, is not the one who died a tragic but heroic death in ‘Logan’ (2017). The cast includes Emma Corrin, Morena Baccarin, and Matthew Macfadyen.
‘Deadpool And Wolverine’ was released on July 26 and is currently playing in theatres across the globe.
