National Award-winning actor Dhanush thrilled fans on Wednesday with the unveiling of the first poster of his upcoming movie, which will depict the life of legendary music composer Ilaiyaraaja. Titled ‘Ilaiyaraaja,’ the film will be directed by Arun Matheswaran, who previously helmed Dhanush’s last film ‘Captain Miller.’ Dhanush shared the poster on his social media platforms, expressing his privilege in portraying the iconic music maestro Ilaiyaraaja in the film.
‘Ilaiyaraaja’ is slated for release in multiple languages, including Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi. The project is backed by Connekkt Media, PK Prime Production, and Mercuri Movies, with Sriram Bakthisaran, C K Padma Kumar, Varun Mathur, Ilamparithy Gajendran, and Saurabh Mishra serving as producers. Esteemed cinematographer Nirav Shah will handle the cinematography for the film. Shooting for the movie is set to commence in October 2024, with the filmmakers targeting a mid-2025 release.

With a career spanning over five decades, Ilaiyaraaja has made an indelible impact on the industry, having composed over 7,000 songs for more than 1,000 films and performed in over 20,000 concerts worldwide.
His remarkable contributions to music have earned him prestigious accolades, including the Padma Bhushan in 2010 and the Padma Vibhushan in 2018, in recognition of his outstanding achievements in the field.
