Ahead of the funeral of famous singer Pankaj Udhas, many celebrities came to his house in Mumbai to express their condolences to the bereaved family.
Musician Shankar Mahadevan and Ustad Zakir Hussain arrived at the late singer’s house on February 26 after battling a long illness.
Commemorating Guru Ghazal, Mahadevan said, “He always had a positive approach to life. May God give his family the strength to bear this great loss. I am very sorry.” I was disappointed. ”
Padma Shri recipient Pankaj Udhas passed away at the age of 72. His family confirmed the news of his death in a statement.
“It is with great sadness that we announce that Padmashri Pankaj Udhas passed away on February 26 after a long illness. – Udhas family” was stated.
Born on 17 May 1951 in Jetpur, Gujarat, Pankaj Udhas is famous not only for his ghazal music but also for his film career. His solo ghazal album “Aahat”, released in 1980, made him popular. Later, he released other songs like Mukarar (1981), Tarrannum (1982), Mehfil (1983).
Some of his famous songs include ‘Chitthi Aayi Hai’, ‘Chandani Raat’ Mein’, ‘Na Kajre Ki Dhaar’, ‘Aur Ahista Kijiye Baatein’, ‘Ek Taraf Uska Ghar’ and ‘Thodi Thodi Piya’ Kev takes it.
Following the news of his death, fans and members of the music and video industry paid tribute to him on social media.
Senior Anupam Kher said in a video: “Pankaj Udhas ji. Why are some people so out there? There are some people you rarely meet but you will appreciate them every time you meet them. There are wonderful Memories. Their memories fill your heart when you realize they are gone.”
