Brad Pitt continues to prevail in his legal dispute with Angelina Jolie over the ownership of their French vineyard, paving the way for a potential lawsuit. Brad Pitt seems to hold the upper hand in the ongoing ‘War of the Rosés.’ The most recent court ruling favors Pitt, granting him another significant victory in the battle for control over the French vineyard he co-owned with his ex-wife, Angelina Jolie.
This marks his second consecutive triumph following a previous win in February. This latest development indicates that the legal team representing the Hollywood star has the grounds to pursue legal action, with Pitt himself suing Jolie.
According to reports, Jolie’s legal representatives had been attempting to overturn a Los Angeles court decision that sided with Pitt’s claim. The primary contention raised by Pitt, alleging that Jolie sold her stake in their picturesque vineyard to Russian oligarch Yuri Shefler in 2021 without his consent, has been a focal point of contention between the former Hollywood power couple since their divorce.
However, the court has now rejected claims that Pitt’s lawsuit was “frivolous, malicious, and part of a problematic pattern,” securing another victory for Pitt. With this latest win, Pitt’s legal team is said to be gearing up to proceed with the lawsuit in which the “Babylon” actor accuses Jolie of violating an agreement stipulating that they would offer each other the opportunity to purchase their respective shares first.
The Chateau Miraval estate, famed for producing award-winning sparkling rosé, spans 1,300 acres in France and was jointly acquired by the couple in 2008. They later tied the knot at the same estate in 2014, and it is currently estimated to be worth around $164 million.
A source close to Pitt spilled the beans, “Brad wants Jersey to start giving answers. He should have the right to know who bought his company. He has poured his heart and soul into Chateau Miraval and feels like the rug is being pulled out from under him. He’s uncertain about the identity of his business associates.”
