All 20 nominees at the Academy Awards will receive a luxurious “Everybody Wins” gift bag from Distinctive Assets, valued at approximately $180,000. Despite only four actors winning an Oscar statuette, all the nominees will enjoy over 50 gifts, ranging from a $15 Rubik’s Cube to a $50,000 stay at the luxurious Swiss ski chalet.
Distinctive Assets, an LA-based marketing company, has been providing these gift bags for 22 years. Recipients will receive various items, including a portable Schwank Grill, a $335 handmade bag from Elboque, a red light sleep therapy device from Helight, and a retro-themed 50th-anniversary Rubik’s Cube.
Additionally, nominees are offered a $25,000 live show from mentalist Carl Christman and a $10,000 micro-needling treatment from Cynosure. The Everybody Wins gift bag has become synonymous with the end of awards season, representing a moment for nominees to enjoy the spoils of their success.
Lash Fary, founder of Los Angeles-based marketing company Distinctive Assets, in an interview shared, “We call it ‘Everyone Wins’ and we do this independently of the Academy, which means I get to decide who gets it and it’s only the top acting and directing nominees. That’s 25 people this year and we also get to decide what goes in it and it’s some fabulous stuff this year.”
Fary, in a different interview added, “It rarely ever fits into a single suitcase. We have a piece of Olympia luggage that’s the biggest rolling duffel bag they make,. And then it usually spills over into these eco friendly tote bags.”
