The Pran Pratishtha ceremony for Lord Ram at the newly constructed Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Mandir in Ayodhya took place on January 22, led by rituals conducted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. During the ceremony, PM Modi addressed the dignitaries, emphasizing the significance of the occasion. He remarked, “This is not just a moment of celebration for us all but also one to reflect the coming of age of the Indian society.” PM Modi highlighted how the construction of the temple, once feared to cause controversy, now stands as a symbol of peace, patience, harmony, and integration.
Reflecting on the journey towards the temple’s construction, PM Modi noted, “There was also a time when some people used to say ‘Ram Mandir bana toh aag lag jaegi’ (the making of the Ram Temple would set off a firestorm).” He underscored how the temple has become a beacon of positivity, fostering unity and social cohesion. PM Modi’s words resonated with the transformative impact of the temple’s construction, marking a milestone in India’s history while promoting peace and harmony among its citizens.
