Dev Patel, known for his role in “Slumdog Millionaire,” is making his directorial debut with “Monkey Man,” and his movie is all set to hit theatres on April 5 worldwide. This action-packed thriller will also be available for digital rental and streaming on an OTT platform. “Monkey Man” boasts a talented cast including Pitobash, Sharlto Copely, Sikandar Kher, Vipin Sharma, Ashwini Kalsekar, Adithi Kalkunte, Sobhita Dhulipala, and Makarand Deshpande, with a runtime of 113 minutes.
Is Monkey Man Releasing On April 19?
Although the theatrical release date is confirmed for April 5, there’s uncertainty surrounding the digital and OTT streaming release dates. It was earlier revealed that the film will hit the screens on April 19. However, recent social media posts from Universal Pictures India no longer mention the release date. The posts now instead read a vague ‘coming soon.’ Even ticket platforms have removed the film’s release date, leading to speculation about a potential delay.
A source earlier spilled the beans that the studio aims to release “Monkey Man” in Indian theaters on April 19, pending clearance from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). However, the film’s content, which includes excessive violence, may require adjustments to avoid offending certain audience segments. The CBFC clearance process, along with approvals from Universal Studios in the USA, may cause delays. If all goes according to plan, the film will premiere on April 19; otherwise, it may be postponed to April 26.
