Recent reports have suggested that Salman Khan might initiate a defamation lawsuit against stand-up comedian Kunal Kamra for poking fun at his persona. However, Kunal has firmly declined to offer an apology for his remarks. Contrary to these reports, according to a leading publication, Salman has no intention of suing Kunal over the derogatory jokes he made about him.
Why Is Salman Khan Not Suing Kunal Kamra?
A close friend of Salman, as cited by the publication, dismissed the idea of a defamation case as mere speculation. The friend emphasized that if Salman were to sue everyone who criticized him, he would be constantly tied up in legal battles. Over time, Salman has grown accustomed to his controversial image and understands that his name, even when used derogatorily, attracts attention. He said, “If he (Salman Khan) sued everyone who abused him, he would be in and out of courtrooms. Over the years, Salman has come to terms with his controversial attackable image. He knows mentioning his name, especially in a derogatory context, gets attention. So no, he isn’t suing this guy (Kunal Kamra),” adding, “His father, Salim Khan, counsels him (Salman) to ignore insults. Salim saab tells Salman they are just a way of grabbing attention.”

What Did Kunal Kamra Joke About Salman Khan?
Kunal had targeted Salman during one of his recent performances, with the video later shared by Kamaal R Khan, popularly known as KRK. Responding to KRK’s claim that Salman was contemplating legal action, Kunal tweeted, “I am not a flying bird or a stationary footpath and I don’t apologise for jokes anymore…”
In the clip, Kunal can be seen ridiculing Salman’s involvement in controversies and his hosting of reality shows like Bigg Boss and Bigg Boss OTT. He also mimicked the actor, questioning the fear comedians once had of joking about Salman and referencing past controversies surrounding the actor.
