Netflix’s Maharaja will mark actor Aamir Khan’s son Junaid Khan’s big acting debut. The three films that the OTT giant released in collaboration with Yash Raj Entertainment were Vaani Kapoor’s Mandala Murders, Anupam Kher’s Vijay 69, and Junaid’s debut film Maharaja. A single video included snippets from all three films. The video gave an impression of the film’s scope while withholding Junaid’s appearance, teasing the audience while Vijay 69 and Mandala Murders unveiled the characters’ faces.
The 1862 Maharaja Libel Case, in which the leader of a religious sect sued a newspaper for allegedly having extramarital affairs with his female followers, is said to have served as the inspiration for Maharaja, which also stars Sai Pallavi. In the movie, Junaid is supposedly portraying a journalist.
Father Aamir Khan is producing and Siddharth P. Malhotra is directing Junaid’s second movie. A few days ago, BTS images from the movie that showed Sai Pallavi and Junaid posing together against the backdrop of the Sapporo Snow Festival in Japan went viral.
The other two movies were Vijay 69 and Mandala Murders. Gopi Puthran is the director of Mandala Murders, which stars Vaani Kapoor and Vaibhav Raj Gupta. Anupam Kher plays a sexagenarian man in the slice-of-life movie Vijay 69, who competes in a triathlon at the age of 69. Akshay Roy is the director of the movie.
