‘Kanguva’ Teaser: Suriya, Bobby Deol Gear Up for a Violent Showdown

Suriya will soon be seen in ‘Kanguva’, one of the most ambitious films of his career. The action period drama has created a great deal of buzz among fans as it features the mass hero in a fierce new avatar. On Tuesday, March 19, Suriya took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to share its teaser.

The short video features some stunning visuals and introduces the audience to the film’s world. Suriya looks battle ready as he gears up to vanquish foes and protect his honour.

The teaser also offers glimpses of Bobby Doel, who plays the barbaric antagonist. His transformation and physical intensity are hard to miss. Additionally, the video sets the stage for a clash between his character and the one essayed by Suriya, The background music blends with the reel action.

‘Kanguva’ is directed by ‘Siruthai’ Siva and marks his first collaboration with the ‘Singam’ actor. The film features Disha Patani, who was recently seen as the antagonist in ‘Yodha‘, as the leading lady and marks her Tamil debut. The actress was to enter the industry with ‘Sangamithra’ but it got shelved. ‘Kanguva’ has a strong cast that includes Natty, Jagapathi Babu, Yogi Babu, Deepa Venkat, and the late G. Marimuthu. Kanguva is produced by K. E. Gnanavel Raja, V. Vamsi Krishna Reddy, and  Pramod Uppalapati, Its music is composed by Devi Sri Prasad. 

Suriya, meanwhile, was to collaborate with Sudha Kongara for ‘Suriya 43’, their second film after ‘Soorarai Pottru’. It, however, is yet to go on floors. Suriya recently clarified that it will take a bit longer than expected to materialise but hasn’t been shelved. It features Dulquer Salmaan, Nazriya, and Vijay Varma in key roles. This will be GV Prakash Kumar’s 100th film as a composer.
