‘Maidaan’ vs ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’: Ajay Devgn Breaks Silence on Clash, Says ‘There Are Certain…’

Ajay Devgn is gearing up for the release of ‘Maidaan’, one of the most ambitious films of his career. The sports drama is set to release alongside ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’ this Eid , which has created a great deal of buzz among fans.

Speaking at the trailer launch of ‘Maidaan’, Devgn addressed this situation and said there are “certain obligations” because of which films release on the same day. He further said that there isn’t really ‘a clash’ between these films as they cater to different audiences.

“First of all I won’t call it a clash. If you are calling it a clash, then in your language I wouldn’t want two films to release at the same time. However, there are certain obligations due to which the films are to be released. We’re looking at it in the terms that there is a good big weekend, so both the films would perform well (at the box office),” he told the media

‘Maidaan is a biographical sports drama based on the life of Syed Abdul Rahim, one of the pioneers of Indian football. It directed by Amit Sharma of ‘Badhaai Ho’ fame. Besides Ajay Devgn, it features Priyamani and Gajraj Rao. ‘Maidaan’  is backed by Zee Studios, Boney Kapoor, Arunava Joy Sengupta, and Akash Chawla.

‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’, on the other hand, is an action drama with Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff in the lead. The cast includes Prithviraj Sukumaran, Manushi Chhillar, and Alaya F.

It features riveting chase sequences and has been shot on a budget on a budget of Rs 350 crore. The film is directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, best known for his work on ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ and ‘Sultan’,  and produced under Pooja Entertainment and AAZ Films
