Malavika Mohanan will soon be seen in the eagerly-awaited Thangalaan, one of the biggest films of her career. It features her as a sorceress and marks her first collaboration with Pa Ranjith, who is known for his realistic brand of storytelling. In a recent interview, Malavika revealed that she had a difficult time during the shoot and had to visit multiple doctors because of rashes.

Malavika Mohanan Found Thangalaan To Be A Difficult Shoot

Malavika Mohanan will be seen alongside Chiyaan Vikram in Thangalaan, directed by Pa Ranjith. The film features her in a new look, which has piqued the curiosity of fans. In a recent interview with Onmanorama, the star said that she was left with rashes and sunburns during a lengthy schedule in Kolar. She added that she had to visit numerous doctors during the shoot.

“I visited at least five doctors, including a dermatologist and an eye doctor. Basically, I had to sit down for the makeup for four to five hours. I had rashes after being in makeup for 10 hours. We were also exposed to the sun a lot during the shoot. Of course, you don’t have the time to think about it then, but later you see burn marks here and there,”said Malavika.

The actress added that she was surprised when Ranjith asked her to ride a buffalo for a scene.

About ‘Thangalaan’

Vikram’s ‘Thangalaan’ is billed as a hard-hitting historical action drama that revolves around a villager who rises against the British when they try to seize his plot of gold. It features Malavika Mohanan and Parvathy as the leading ladies.

The supporting cast includes Pasupathy, Daniel Caltagirone, and Arjun Anbudan. The music is composed by GV Prakash Kumar. A Kishor Kumar and Selva RK are its the cinematographer and editor respectively. The team shot major portions of Thangalaan in cities such as Chennai and Madurai.

It is slated to premiere in theatres on August 15.
