Maria Goretti, wife of Bollywood actor Arshad Warsi, recently expressed dismay over the use of an elephant as a prop during the extravagant pre-wedding festivities of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant.
The former VJ questioned the ethics of employing innocent animals as props, particularly at such high-profile events attended by international and Bollywood celebrities.
Maria Goretti highlighted the issue, emphasizing the use of an elephant as a prop during the three-day celebration in Jamnagar, Gujarat.
Sharing an image on her Instagram Story from one of the event venues, Maria Goretti described the treatment of animals as ‘heartbreaking’. Notably, the images circulating on social media were originally posted by Ivanka Trump, daughter of former American president Donald Trump.
One of the pictures showed Ivanka standing beside an elephant at an event hosted by the Ambanis. Upon closer examination, the elephant appeared to be adorned with headgear, with a person standing nearby observing the animal.

Maria Goretti shared images of Ivanka Trump standing beside the elephant and expressed her dismay, stating, “I’m shocked by this image from the Ambani celebration. I believe no animal, especially those being rescued and rehabilitated, should be subjected to such treatment. It’s heartbreaking to see this elephant being used merely as a prop amidst the noise and crowds.”
A comprehensive roster of international businessmen and celebrities was compiled, featuring prominent figures such as Bill Gates (Former CEO of Microsoft) and Mark Zuckerberg (CEO of Facebook). Additionally, a captivating dance performance was delivered by Hollywood artist Rihanna and her team. Furthermore, esteemed guests from Qatar were extended invitations to attend the pre-wedding gala.
