Despite his illustrious career as an A-list actor in Hollywood, Brad Pitt’s personal life, particularly his relationships, has frequently taken center stage. His high-profile marriages to Jennifer Aniston and Angelina Jolie have consistently drawn public scrutiny.
One notable controversy from Pitt’s early career involved claims about his alleged relationship with Robin Givens, ex-wife of boxing legend Mike Tyson.
Mike Tyson and Robin Givens tied the knot in February 1988 but divorced just a year later. Their relationship was widely regarded as tumultuous, with both parties accusing each other of wrongdoing. Givens cited “fears for her safety” as her reason for leaving the boxing star.
In Tyson’s memoir, Undisputed Truth, he alleged that Givens was having an affair with Pitt while they were still married. However, Givens has firmly denied these claims.
According to Tyson, he once pulled into Givens’ driveway and saw her in a car with Pitt. Tyson also claimed he caught the pair in bed together. Recalling the incident, Tyson wrote, “You had to see the look on his face. He looked like he was ready to receive his last rites. He also looked stoned out of his gourd.”
Tyson alleged that Pitt pleaded with him not to harm him, saying, “Dude, don’t hit me, don’t hit me.”
During an interview on In Depth with Graham Bensinger, Tyson elaborated on the incident, saying he was “mad as hell” when he discovered Pitt with Givens.
He revealed, “I was due a divorce, but every day I would go to her house to have sex with her. This particular day, someone beat me to the punch. I guess Brad Pitt got there earlier than I did.”
Addressing Tyson’s allegations during a past appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, Givens admitted that the driveway incident was true but denied any inappropriate behavior. She clarified, “Pulling up in the driveway? That part’s true. I thought he said he caught us in bed. I didn’t read the book, but I was told he said he caught us in bed, which never happened. Never, ever, ever happened.”
Givens explained that she and Pitt were in the car because they were “returning from a screening or something.” Regarding Tyson’s claim that Pitt begged him not to hit him, she laughed it off, saying it didn’t align with Pitt’s personality, adding, “No, never.”
Although Pitt and Givens briefly dated, Givens firmly stated that she never cheated on Tyson during their marriage, countering the boxer’s narrative in his memoir and interviews.
