Naga Chaitanya and Sobhita Dhulipala recently shared a series of previously unseen photos from their engagement on Instagram, despite facing trolling. The couple, who has been surrounded by dating rumors for over two years, posted the pictures along with a poetic caption.
The post included verses from the Kurunthogai, translated by A.K. Ramanujan: “What could my mother be to yours? What kin is my father to yours anyway? And how did you and I meet ever? But in love, our hearts are as red earth and pouring rain: mingled beyond parting.”
This marks the first time Naga Chaitanya has publicly shared a photo with Sobhita on his social media. Although rumors about their relationship had been circulating for some time, the couple had not previously addressed the speculations.

The engagement took place on Thursday morning during an intimate ceremony at Chaitanya’s home, attended by close family members. Shortly after, Naga Chaitanya’s father, the superstar Nagarjuna, officially announced the happy news on X (formerly known as Twitter).
He posted the first photos of the newly engaged couple and expressed his joy, writing, “We are delighted to announce the engagement of our son, Naga Chaitanya, to Sobhita Dhulipala, which took place this morning at 9:42 a.m.! We are overjoyed to welcome her into our family. Congratulations to the happy couple! Wishing them a lifetime of love and happiness. God bless! ❤️ 8.8.8 A beginning of infinite love.”
Rumors about Naga Chaitanya and Sobhita’s relationship began in May 2023 when they were first seen together in Hyderabad. Their relationship garnered even more attention after a viral photo from their European holiday in June showed them enjoying a wine-tasting session, further fueling the speculation.
Despite the joyous occasion, the couple has been subjected to persistent trolling, particularly from fans of Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Naga Chaitanya’s ex-wife. Samantha and Chaitanya announced their separation in October 2021 after four years of marriage, asking for privacy as they moved on with their lives.
