Nayanthara Wins Best Actress, Shah Rukh Khan Best Actor at DPIFF 2024

In a standout moment at the Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival Awards 2024, Nayanthara and Shah Rukh Khan claimed top honors for their remarkable performances in the action thriller ‘Jawan.’ Nayanthara was celebrated as the Best Actress, while Shah Rukh Khan secured the Best Actor accolade for the same film.

The star-studded event witnessed Shah Rukh Khan adding a touch of his signature charm as he handed over the Best Actress award to Nayanthara. Social media lit up with clips of the ceremony, capturing the iconic moment and showcasing Shah Rukh Khan’s spontaneous dance to the beats of ‘Chaleya,’ a delightful gesture to welcome Nayanthara on stage.

‘Jawan,’ a cinematic collaboration between Shah Rukh Khan and director Atlee, marked its presence with a stellar ensemble cast, including Deepika Padukone, Priyamani, Sanya Malhotra, Ridhi Dogra, Lehar Khan, Girija Oak, and Sanjeeta Bhattacharya. Atlee’s Bollywood directorial debut has left an indelible mark on the industry, redefining box office success and captivating audiences with its gripping narrative.

Released on September 7th last year, ‘Jawan’ not only showcases Shah Rukh Khan in a double role but also features Nayanthara portraying the role of a dedicated cop and the love interest of the Bollywood icon. The film’s success story is reflected in its ability to rewrite record books, setting new standards for excellence in the industry.

Expressing his enthusiasm for the film’s triumph, Shah Rukh Khan shared, “It’s a celebration. We rarely get a chance to live with a film for years. The making of ‘Jawan’ has been going on for four years due to Covid and time constraints. There were a lot of people involved in this film, especially individuals from the South who came, settled in Mumbai, and dedicatedly worked day and night for this film, which is the hardest work ever.”

As ‘Jawan’ continues to make waves, Nayanthara and Shah Rukh Khan’s wins at the DPIFF 2024 stand as a testament to the film’s excellence and the duo’s outstanding contributions to Indian cinema.
