Rajendra Prasad’s Daughter Gayathri Dies at 38

Gayathri, the daughter of veteran actor Rajendra Prasad, passed away early Saturday morning from a heart attack at the age of 38. The film community in Tollywood has extended their condolences to the grieving actor, who received an outpouring of support on social media.

Gayathri experienced chest pain and was taken to AIG Hospital in Hyderabad late Friday night. Rajendra Prasad, who was shooting for a film at the time, rushed to the hospital upon hearing the news. Despite medical efforts, she suffered a massive heart attack and was pronounced dead around 12:40 am on Saturday.

Her last rites are scheduled to take place in Hyderabad later today. Gayathri leaves behind a daughter, Sai Tejaswini, who is a child actor. The relationship between Rajendra Prasad and Gayathri had been strained, as she married against his wishes. However, they reconciled in 2018 during an event for the film Bewars, with the actor noting that he saw his late mother in Gayathri.

Several celebrities have shared their condolences. Pawan Kalyan, actor and Deputy CM of Andhra Pradesh, expressed his shock at the news, saying, “My deepest sympathies to Shri Rajendra Prasad. The sudden loss of his daughter, Srimati Gayathri, is heartbreaking. I pray for her soul to rest in peace and wish Rajendra Prasad the strength to endure this loss.”

Jr NTR also took to X (formerly Twitter) to express his sorrow, stating, “It’s painful to hear that Rajendra Prasad, with whom I share a close bond, has lost his daughter Gayathri. I pray for her soul to rest in peace and send my condolences to him and his family.”
