‘Mr and Mrs Mahi’ was billed as a game changer for Janhvi Kapoor but it dis not do as well as expected at the ticket window. The film grossed Rs 51 crore at the worldwide box office against a budget of Rs 41 crore. This marked Janhvi’s second collaboration with Rajkummar Rao. The two had previously collaborated on the horror comedy ‘Roohi’, which was released in theatres in 2021.
About ‘Mr and Mrs Mahi’
Helmed Sharan Sharma, ‘Mr. and Mrs Mahi’ centres on the relationship between Mahendra (Rajkummar Rao), a failed cricketer, and Mahima (Janhvi), a doctor. They get married and embrace their new identities as Mr. and Mrs Mahi. Over time, they grow close and bond over their shared love for cricket Mahendra, impressed by Mahima’s cricketing skills, mentors her in a bid to redeem himself.
It also features Rajesh Sharma, Kumud Mishra, Purnendu Bhattacharya, and Zarina Wahab in key roles. The flick is produced by Zee Studios and Dharma Productions.
Mr and Mrs Mahi was released in cinemas on May 31 and is currently available to stream on Netflix.
