Reem Shaikh Faces Threats on Set: Man Warns ‘Be Grateful I Didn’t Make Your Life Miserable’

Raisinghani v/s Raisinghani, starring Karan Wahi, Jennifer Winget, and Reem Shaikh, debuted on SonyLIV last week. In addition, the intriguing storyline of the show attracted a lot of attention from the star cast as well. During a recent interview with IndianExpress.com, Reem Shaikh related her experience of encountering discrimination from a man on set. Reem continued to discuss this incident and said, “I have had different fights,” in response to the question of how she was able to make her way in this man’s world. In addition to the obvious fact that it is a man’s world, I work with people who are significantly older than I am because I am a young person.

Jennifer Winget expressed her shock and anger at Reem Shaikh’s account of the incident, saying that Reem ought to have given the man a slap. “I just asked him that what made him think that I would have given him that power to do so because he was not the one paying me,” the Tere Ishq Mein Ghayal actor countered. I have gone through that on multiple occasions, but my dad has always been there for me—he is a very strong man. Every time, I’ve returned stronger. He has given me such strength since I was a child that I have the courage to confront any man who tries to play around with me and give it back.

On Raisinghani v/s Raisinghani, Reem plays the role of Ankita who is a journalist, but joins a law firm only take revenge from her step-father. Talking about her character, Reem said, “I am nothing like my character, she is smart and so revengeful. I get tired sometimes, but she is fun. I am not revengeful personally. So it is tiring to be Ankita.”

Reem Shaikh has previously contributed to programs such as Tuhjse Hai Raabta, Tere Ishq Mein Ghayal, and Fanah Ishq Mein. She has also acted in the films Gul Makai and Wazir.
