‘RRR’ Roars Again At Oscars 2024 As S.S. Rajamouli’s Film Gets A Special Mention During Stunt Sequence Tribute

The 96th Academy Awards ceremony was a nostalgic treat for ‘RRR’ enthusiasts as the S.S. Rajamouli-directed blockbuster unexpectedly made a double appearance during the event.

Firstly, during a special tribute to stunt performers in cinema presented by Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt, a riveting action scene from ‘RRR,’ showcasing stars Jr. NTR and Ram Charan, was featured alongside clips from international films. This electrifying snippet reignited anticipation for the movie’s adrenaline-pumping action sequences.

Later, when Cynthia Erivo and Ariana DeBose took the stage to present the Best Original Score award, a familiar melody filled the background – none other than the beloved ‘Naatu Naatu’ song. This song had previously won the Oscar for Best Original Song at the 95th Academy Awards in 2023. The unexpected inclusion of this iconic song served as a delightful reminder of ‘RRR’s musical triumph.

Following these surprise appearances, the hashtag #RRRMovie trended online. The film’s official social media handle shared the clip and expressed their excitement: “And again, a sweet surprise for us…. Glad that @TheAcademy included #RRRMovie action sequence as a part of their tribute to the world’s greatest stunt sequence in cinema.”

‘RRR’ is a Telugu-language epic period action drama that captivated audiences globally. The film narrates the fictionalized tale of two Indian revolutionaries, Alluri Sitarama Raju and Komaram Bheem, and their resistance against British colonial rule.

Starring Jr NTR and Ram Charan, the film also features Ajay Devgn, Alia Bhatt, Shriya Saran, Samuthirakani, Ray Stevenson, Alison Doody, and Olivia Morris.
