Shaitaan, the supernatural thriller starring Ajay Devgn, R Madhavan, and Jyotika, has achieved significant success at the box office, crossing the ₹100 crore mark globally. According to a report from Sacnilk.com, the film reached this milestone on its fifth day of release. Additionally, on its sixth day, Shaitaan added approximately ₹6.25 crore to its collection in India alone, bringing its total domestic earnings to an estimated ₹74 crore nett.
Sacnilk.com also reports that Shaitaan amassed around ₹80 crore in India and an estimated ₹20 crore overseas within its first five days of release. This makes it the third Hindi film of 2024, following Fighter and Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya, to surpass the ₹100 crore milestone, and the seventh Indian film overall to achieve this feat worldwide.
The success of Shaitaan marks Ajay Devgn’s third consecutive post-Covid-19 pandemic film to gross over ₹100 crore globally, following Drishyam 2 and Bholaa. Additionally, he has played significant roles in other successful films like RRR and Gangubai Kathiawadi.
For Jyotika, who made her Bollywood comeback after more than two decades, Shaitaan represents her first film to gross over ₹100 crore, while for R Madhavan, it is his third film to achieve this milestone. Director Vikas Bahl also celebrates his second film to cross the ₹100 crore mark, following the success of 2019’s Super 30.
Overall, Shaitaan’s box office performance solidifies its position as one of the top-performing Hindi films of 2024, joining the ranks of other successful releases like Fighter and Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya. It stands as the seventh Indian film of the year to surpass ₹100 crore in global gross earnings.
