Sidhu Moosewala’s Father Alleges Government Harassing Him Over His Second Child’s Birth

Balkaur Singh challenged the government to proceed with any legal action if deemed necessary, reaffirming his willingness to provide the required documentation and clear his name

Sidhu Moosewala’s Father Alleges Government Harassing Him Over His Second Child’s Birth

Two days after Punjabi singer Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu Moosewala’s parents celebrated the birth of a baby boy, his father Balkaur Singh voiced concerns on Tuesday, March 19 alleging government harassment in verifying the legitimacy of the newborn.

In a video shared on his social media platforms, Balkaur Singh expressed distress over being pressured by the district administration to provide documentation since morning. He pleaded with Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann to grant him time to complete his wife’s treatment before supplying the necessary documents regarding their newborn.

Balkaur Singh stated, “Despite your blessings, the almighty blessed us by returning Shubhdeep to us. However, I’ve been troubled since morning. The district administration is pressuring me to furnish documents for the child and subjecting me to various inquiries to establish his legitimacy.”

Addressing the government, particularly the Chief Minister, Balkaur Singh urged them to allow his wife to complete her treatment. He assured his compliance with any summons and emphasized his commitment to abide by the law.

In a message directed at the Chief Minister, Balkaur Singh warned against any attempt to harass him, asserting his adherence to the law throughout his life. He challenged the government to proceed with any legal action if deemed necessary, reaffirming his willingness to provide the required documentation and clear his name. However, Deputy Commissioner of Mansa, Paramvir Singh, refuted the allegations when approached, stating that no directives had been issued from the district administration to scrutinize Balkaur Singh’s newborn.

The child, born at Jindal Hospital in Bathinda on March 17, had received congratulations from various political leaders, while Moosewala’s fans celebrated the news. Balkaur Singh had named the child Shubhdeep, signifying his return to bring joy to the family.

Moosewala, who had previously contested the Punjab Assembly elections on a Congress ticket from Mansa in 2022, tragically lost his life on May 29 of that year. Thirty-one individuals, including gangsters Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldy Brar, were implicated in the case, with 25 arrests made thus far.
