Randeep Hooda will soon be seen in ‘Swatantrya Veer Savarkar’, one of the most ambitious films of his career. The film highlights Vinayak Damodar Savarkar’s life and his contribution to the Indian freedom struggle. The biopic has garnered attention because of its powerful theme and captivating teaser. On Monday, May 4, Hooda took to social media to share its official trailer.

The video gives the audience a closer look at his ideology. It features a intense sequence where Veer Sarvarkar meets Mahatma Gandhi. The sequence highlights the differences between their approach towards attaining India’s freedom. It also features glimpses of legendary leaders such as Jawaharlal Nehru, Bal Gangadhar Tilak, Madanlal Dhingra, Bhagat Singh, and Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose. Additionally, the trailer deals with the oppression of Indians under British rule.
‘Swatantrya Veer Savarkar’ is directed by Randeep Hooda himself and marks his debut as a director. The cast includes Ankita Lokhande, Amit Sial, and Mark Bennington.
Randeep Hooda had earlier said that the film helped him push his limits as a performer.
“After almost two years in Kalapani with Mr Savarkar, it’s finally time for him to step out to freedom. The journey has been tough but it has made me go beyond myself as an actor into being a filmmaker and much more,: he had said.
This will be Randeep Hooda’s first release after the action thriller ‘Sergeant’, which premiered on OTT on June 30, 2023. The film was directed by Prawaal Raman of Darna Manaa Hai fame. Its cast included Adil Hyssain, Arun Govil, and Sapna Pabbi.
He is currently working on the social comedy drama ‘Tera Kya Hoga Lovely’, co-starring Ileana.
