Actors Munmun Dutta and Raj Anadkat from “Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah” are reportedly engaged, as exclusively learned by a reliable source of a leading news publication. The source revealed that Munmun, aged 36, and Raj, aged 27, exchanged engagement rings earlier this month in the presence of their families.
Munmun is famous for her character of Babita in the popular sitcom, while Raj previously played the role of Dilip Joshi’s son Tappu in the show. He left the show in December 2022.
According to the source close to the actors, the engagement ceremony took place in a low-key manner outside of Mumbai. “The engagement occurred just a few days ago. Reportedly, the two exchanged rings in Vadodara (Gujarat). Munmun and Raj’s families have embraced their relationship, and they were also in attendance at the ceremony,” said an insider further sharing, “They have been in a relationship since Raj joined ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah.’ It was quite apparent. Everyone on set was aware of it. In fact, some individuals were certain that Munmun and Raj would eventually tie the knot. Hence, it is not surprising that they are now engaged.”
Munmun Dutta and Raj Anadkat have, so far, not commented on their engagement rumours. Reports about Munmun and Raj allegedly dating first surfaced in September 2021.
Munmun had earlier slammed the reports saying, “To the media and their untrustworthy ‘journalists’, who gave you the authority to publish ‘imaginary’ and ‘fabricated’ articles about people’s private lives without their consent? Are you accountable for the harm you cause to their lives with your careless actions? You don’t hesitate to thrust your cameras into the face of a grieving woman who has just lost her love or her son at a funeral, just for your TRPs. You can stoop to any level to create sensational articles/headlines at the expense of someone’s dignity, but are you willing to accept responsibility for wreaking havoc in their lives? If not, then you should be ashamed of yourself!!”
Later, Raj also addressed the dating rumours and released a statement on Instagram writing, “To everyone who has been incessantly writing about me, THINK about the consequences that can occur in my life because of your ‘COOKED UP’ (false) stories, and that too about my life without my consent. All the creative individuals out there, please direct your creativity elsewhere; it will be beneficial to you. May God bless them with good sense.”
