Taylor Swift’s three concerts in Vienna this week have been canceled following the arrest of two suspects allegedly involved in plotting a terrorist attack, according to authorities.
Barracuda Music announced, “We have no choice but to cancel the three scheduled shows for everyone’s safety. All tickets will be automatically refunded.”
The decision to cancel came shortly after the arrest of a 19-year-old Austrian citizen on Wednesday morning, with a second suspect apprehended later in the day.
The suspects reportedly radicalized themselves online, with the 19-year-old allegedly pledging allegiance to the Islamic State’s leader in early July, as stated by Franz Ruf, director-general for public safety in the Ministry of the Interior.
The planned attack targeted Vienna, and the 19-year-old suspect had a specific focus on Swift’s Vienna concerts, Ruf added.

Swift was scheduled to perform in Vienna on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Prior to the cancellation, authorities had planned to enhance security at the events, which were expected to draw 65,000 attendees each day, with an additional 10,000 to 15,000 fans expected outside the venue.
Swift launched her highly successful “Eras Tour” in Glendale, Arizona, on March 18, 2023. In October 2023, she released “Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour,” a concert film documenting the tour, which achieved record-breaking success and earned a Golden Globe nomination.
At the 100th stop of the tour in Liverpool, England, this summer, the 14-time Grammy winner described the tour as “the most exhausting, all-encompassing, but most joyful, most rewarding, most wonderful thing that has ever happened in my life thus far.”
The “Eras Tour” is set to conclude in Vancouver, Canada, on December 8.
