‘Thalaivar 171’: Ranveer Singh to Be Part of Rajinikanth’s Film?

Rajinikanth is set to collaborate with Lokesh Kanagaraj for an eagerly-awaited film, being referred to as ‘Thalaivar 171’. The flick has created a fair deal of buzz in the industry as it reportedly features the mass hero in a new avatar. Now, ‘Thalaivar 171’ is in the limelight for a surprising reason. The buzz is that a Bollywood star is ready to make his Tamil debut with the movie. 

 

Ranveer Singh to Work With Rajinikanth in ‘Thalaivar 171’?

 

‘Thalaivar 171’ is one of the biggest films of Lokesh Kanagaraj’s career as it marks his first collaboration with Rajinikanth. According to the latest reports, the film will feature Ranveer Singh in a key role. The actor, however, is yet to react to these rumours.

‘Thalaivar 171’ is billed as a gangster drama and is expected to be released in multiple languages. As such, Ranveer’s association with it may help it get wider patronage in Hindi. Similarly, working with ‘Superstar’ has the potential to help Ranveer strengthen his footprint in the South. 

 

About ‘Thalaivar 171’

Rajinikanth will reportedly play a don in the biggie and his character is likely to have negative shades. The buzz also suggests that ‘Thalaivar 171’ will be set against the backdrop of gold smuggling.

It is also said to be a standalone project with no connection to the Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU). ‘Thalaivar 171’ will be produced by Kalainithi Maran and Lokesh Kanagaraj. The makers are set to reveal its title on April 22. 

 

What’s Next for Rajinikanth, Ranveer Singh?

Rajinikanth delivered a blockbuster last year with ‘Jailer’.  The action-comedy featured Superstar in the role of a former cop and floored critics with its stylish presentation. Its cast included Shiva Rajkumar, Mohanlal, Jackie Shroff, Sunil, Tamannaah, and Ramya Krishnan. Rajinikanth also had an extended cameo in the sports-drama ‘Lal Salaam’, which failed at the box office.

The ‘Baba’ actor is working on ‘Vettaiyan’, directed by TJ Gnanavel . It also features Amitabh Bachchan, Rana Daggubati, Manju Warrier, and Fahadh Faasil in key roles ‘Vettaiyan’ is expected to open in theatres later this year. 

Ranveer, on the other hand, is awaiting the release of Ajay Devgn’s ‘Singham Again’. It is slated to hit screens on August 15.
