Thalapathy Vijay continues to solidify his position as the top star in Kollywood, proving his box office dominance once again. Despite receiving mixed reviews, his latest film, The Greatest Of All Time, is performing exceptionally well worldwide, showcasing Vijay’s incredible star power.
This success is why the actor was paid a massive 200 crore salary, as his name alone guarantees profitable pre-release deals and significant box office returns.
Archana Kalpathi, CEO of AGS Entertainment, recently revealed key details about the film’s budget and Vijay’s remuneration.

According to her, The GOAT had a budget of around 400 crores, and Vijay’s 200 crore salary makes him the highest-paid actor in India. While there are reports suggesting that Rajinikanth might have earned more than 250 crores for Coolie, this has yet to be officially confirmed.
With such a high paycheck, Vijay not only ranks as India’s top-paid actor but also rivals some of Hollywood’s biggest stars. For instance, his salary for The Greatest Of All Time surpasses Robert Downey Jr.’s reported earnings of $20 million (around 168 crores) for Avengers: Endgame.
Although Vijay’s pay is 19% higher, RDJ also had an 8% back-end deal, ultimately earning him $75 million (630 crores) from Endgame.
On another note, The Greatest Of All Time is rumoured to be Vijay’s second-last film before entering politics. His next project, directed by H. Vinoth, will be his 69th film, tentatively titled Thalapathy 69, and reports suggest the actor will receive an even higher salary of 250 crores for this film.
