‘The Great Indian Kapil Show’: Ranbir Kapoor Reveals Rishi Once Hit Him During Diwali Pooja for This Reason

Ranbir Kapoor is one of the most popular names in the Hindi film industry. The actor has made a name for himself with his powerful performances and striking screen presence. The Animal star recently appeared on ‘The Great Indian Kapil Show,’ which premiered on Netflix on March 31, and opened up about an incident from his childhood.

Ranbir revealed that his father and Bollywood legend the late Rishi Kapoor once slapped him for entering the temple premises at RK Studios without removing his footwear.

“Mujhe ek hi baar bohot zor ki pari thi! Diwali pooja at RK Studios. Papa bohot religious the. I think I was eight or nine years old. Toh main chappal pehenke andar chala gaya tha mandir mein. Toh mujhe dapli pari thi (He hit me only once, very hard! He was a religious man, and I had entered the temple premises without removing my shoes. So he had smacked be on the head))!”.

Ranbir was accompanied by Neetu Kapoor and Riddhima.

In case you did not know, Rishi Kapoor was one of Bollywood’s most respected performers. He emerged as a heartthrob in the 70s with his work in ‘Bobby’. His film credits include ‘Karz’, ‘Damini’, ‘Chandini’, ‘Bol Radha Bol’, ‘Namastey London’, and ‘Mulk’. ‘Chintuji’ passed away in 2020 after battling cancer. His last film ‘Sharmaji Namkeen’ was released on Prime Video after his death.

Coming back to Ranbir, he was last seen in ‘Animal’. The action drama emerged as a massive hit despite receiving polarising reviews. The Sandeep Vanga-directed film’s cast included Rashmika Mandanna, Bobby Deol, and Tripti Dimri.

Ranbir is gearing up to begin work on Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana, which features him as Lord Ram. The film is said to star Yash as Ravan and Sai Pallavi as Sita. Ranbir is expected to begin work on Animal Park after Sandeep Vanga wraps up Prabhas’ ‘Spirit’.
