Timothée Chalamet’s career trajectory continues to soar, with his recent earnings reflecting his rising stardom. According to a report from Variety, Chalamet received a substantial paycheck of over $8 million for his role in Wonka, where he portrayed the iconic character Willy Wonka in the prequel film released in December 2023. The movie proved to be a massive success, grossing over $600 million globally.
Following the success of Wonka, Chalamet starred in another blockbuster, Dune: Part Two, which has already surpassed $369 million at the box office since its release on March 1. Despite expectations, Chalamet’s largest paycheck actually came from Wonka, where he earned $9 million, compared to $2.2 million for Dune: Part Two, marking a significant increase of 309%.
In addition to his roles in Wonka and Dune: Part Two, Chalamet also appeared in Don’t Look Up and Bones And All. While his earnings for Don’t Look Up are undisclosed, he received $350K for his involvement in Bones And All, where he also served as a producer.
Industry insiders attribute the success of Wonka and Dune: Part Two not only to the popularity of the franchises but also to Chalamet’s growing star power. Mary Parent, a producer on Dune, describes Chalamet as a genuine movie star whose presence significantly contributes to the success of any project he’s involved in.
