Tom Cruise to Star in Upcoming Film by Alejandro G. Inarritu

Hollywood icon Tom Cruise is set to take the lead in a new film from acclaimed director Alejandro G. Inarritu. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Warner Bros. and Legendary Entertainment are currently negotiating to acquire the project, which marks Inarritu’s return to English-language cinema since his work on “The Revenant” almost ten years ago.

The script for the film has been penned by Inarritu along with Sabina Berman, Alexander Dinelaris, and Nicolas Giacobone, although specific details about the project have been kept under wraps.

This new project follows Cruise’s recent deal with Warner Bros., which has sparked much speculation about his future projects. The film also aligns with rumors that Cruise is keen to collaborate with visionary directors after focusing on franchise films like the “Mission: Impossible” series and “Top Gun: Maverick” at Paramount for much of the past decade.

Inarritu, whose last project was the Spanish-language Netflix drama “Bardo,” previously achieved great success with “The Revenant,” which grossed over USD 500 million worldwide and earned him an Academy Award for Best Director. Before that, his film “Birdman” won Best Picture, Director, and Original Screenplay Oscars in 2015.

Cruise, known for his roles in films like “Born on the Fourth of July,” “Jerry Maguire,” and “Magnolia,” has been nominated for three Academy Awards. Inarritu, on the other hand, directed Leonardo DiCaprio to an Oscar win in “The Revenant” and helped Michael Keaton secure a Best Actor nomination for “Birdman.” This collaboration between Cruise and Inarritu is sure to generate excitement among audiences, given their track record of successful projects.
