The film faced competition from ‘Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha’, starring Ajay Devgn. Moreover, the holdover release ‘Deadpool And Wolverine’ is still going strong despite being in the second week.

‘Ulajh’ is likely to grow further on its first Sunday as is the case with most films. Its fate will ultimately depend on whether it passes the Monday test.

About ‘Ulajh’

Billed as a spy-thriller, ‘Ulajh’ centres on a young diplomat who finds herself in the middle of an ugly conspiracy while on an assignment. Directed by National Award winner Sudhanshu Saria, the film also stars Gulshan Devaiah and Roshan Mathew in lead roles. The cast includes Adil Hussain, Rajesh Tailang, Meiyang Chang, Sachin Khedekar, Rajendra Gupta and Jitendra Joshi.

Janhvi had earlier said that she took up ‘Ulajh’ as the story had the potential to help her venture out from comfort zone.

“When I was approached with the script of ‘Ulajh’, it instantly attracted me because as an actor, I am constantly looking for scripts that make me break out of my comfort zone and portraying a character based in the celebrated world of the Indian Foreign Services was just that,” she had said in an interaction with the media.

‘Ulajh’ hit screens on August 2 and is currently playing in theatres. This is Janhvi’s first release after ‘Mr and Mrs Mahi’.
