‘Puranaanooru’ is a landmark film for GV Prakash Kumar as it marks his 100th movie as a music composer. It is jointly produced by 2D Entertainment and Meenakshi Cinemas. Puranaanooru also marks Bollywood actor Vijay Varma’s Tamil debut.
Interestingly, this will be Suriya’s second film with Sudha Kongara. The two previously teamed up for ‘Soorarai Pottru’, which premiered on OTT in 2020 and received rave reviews from critics. The film, inspired by the life of Captain Gopinath, helped him win the National Award for ‘Best Actor’.
Suriya, meanwhile, is going through a busy phase on the work front. He will soon be seen in ‘Kanguva’, which marks his first collaboration with ‘Siruthai’ Siva. The period action drama features him in a new avatar, which has already become the talk of the town. It stars Disha Patani as the leading lady and marks her Kollywood/Tamil debut. She was supposed to enter the industry with ‘Sangamithra’ but the film failed to take off. Devi Sri Prasad serves as the director of ‘Kanguva’.
