Naga Chaitanya and Sobhita Dhulipala surprised their fans with the announcement of their engagement, a news first shared by Nagarjuna. Although the couple had been dating for a long time, they never publicly confirmed their relationship until now.
Following the engagement announcement, well-wishes poured in from all directions, and Nagarjuna recently spoke about the upcoming wedding and mentioned that he knew Sobhita before his son did.
In an exclusive interview with a leading new channel, Nagarjuna replied on the wedding date and said, “Not immediately, Subhash. Like I told you, we chose to have a hurried engagement because it was an auspicious day, and since Chay and Sobhita are very sure that they want to marry, we said, Let’s do it.”
He further revealed that he was knowing Shobhita already. “Very much so. In fact, you will be surprised to know that I know her from long before Chay. Yes! Chay got to know Sobhita two years ago. But I have known her for six years. I saw her in Adivi Sesh’s film Goodachari and liked her work. I told her that. From then on, we have had many discussions on cinema, life, and philosophy. On Thursday, Nagarjuna took to Instagram to share photos from the engagement ceremony, showing him holding his son and daughter-in-law close. Sobhita looked stunning in a peach-colored saree, while Naga Chaitanya opted for a traditional outfit.

Naga Chaitanya was previously married to Samantha Ruth Prabhu. The two dated for a few years before getting married in 2017. However, they announced their separation in October 2021, after four years of marriage. At that time, they released a statement asking fans and followers to respect their privacy as they “move on.”
Earlier this year in February, Samantha reflected on her separation from Naga Chaitanya. Although she did not directly mention her ex-husband, she described the year before her diagnosis of myositis as “extremely difficult.”
