If the gossip birdies are to be believed, Bollywood actress Taapsee Pannu has tied the knot with her long-term boyfriend Mathias Boe in an intimate wedding ceremony in Udaipur. As per a report, the wedding took place on Saturday, March 23rd, after a few days of pre-wedding festivities that kicked off on March 20th.
The wedding was an extremely private affair attended only by the couple’s close family and friends. Taapsee and Mathias wanted to avoid any media spotlight on their big day. The guest list included Taapsee’s co-stars Pavail Gulati, Anurag Kashyap, Kanika Dhillon and Himanshu Sharma, but not many other Bollywood celebrities.
Who is Taapsee Pannu’s husband Mathias Boe?
Taapsee’s husband Mathias Boe is a former professional badminton player from Denmark. He is a silver medalist at the 2012 London Olympics and 2013 World Championships. Over his two-decade long illustrious career, Mathias partnered with players like Michael Jensen, Thomas Hovgaard and Michael Lamp. His most successful partnership was with Carsten Mogensen, with whom he won the Olympic silver and World Championships silver.
Mathias made his international debut in 1998. He reached the final of his first tournament at the 2004 US Open while partnering with Mogensen. At one point, Mathias was the oldest active player at the elite level. He was part of Denmark’s victorious Thomas Cup team in 2016 and has won numerous Super Series events and the prestigious All England Championships twice. Along with Mogensen, he also won three straight World Super Series Finals from 2010-2012. Mathias was ranked world number one in men’s doubles at his peak.
After ending his partnership with Mogensen in March 2019, Mathias teamed up with compatriot Mads-Conrad Petersen. He retired from international badminton in April 2020 and was later appointed coach for the Indian doubles pair of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty in 2021.
Taapsee has been in a relationship with Mathias for nearly 10 years now. She revealed in an interview that she met him in 2013, the year she made her Bollywood debut with Chashme Baddoor. Taapsee said she has been with the same person for the past decade and is very happy in the relationship.
