The Lalit Suri Hospitality Group Celebrates International Year of Millets with “Shree Anna” – A Gastronomic Extravaganza

In a groundbreaking initiative to celebrate the International Year of Millets, The Lalit Suri Hospitality Group, India’s premier hospitality brand, unveiled its month-long pan India promotion, “Shree Anna,” showcasing the nutritional wonders of millets. The event, held at all The Lalit properties across the country, was graced by the presence of esteemed guests, including the Hon’ble Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development & Sainik Welfare, Sh. Ganesh Joshi, who lauded the initiative and the brand’s dedication to supporting Indian farmers.

Under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Hon’ble Shri Narendra Modiji, the United Nations declared 2023 as the International Year of Millets to raise awareness about the significance of these indigenous grains. The Lalit Group, recognizing the immense potential of millets, took up the mantle to promote these superfoods and their health benefits to a wider audience.

The launch event on July 19th, held at 12:30 pm, commenced with an insightful address by the chief guest, Sh. Ganesh Joshi. He emphasized the importance of millets in sustaining the livelihoods of farmers and fostering better nutrition for the nation. Guests were then treated to a delectable plated meal, featuring an array of millet-based dishes, skillfully curated by the talented chefs of The Lalit Group.

“The Healthy Millet Menu is a celebration of the rich culinary and agricultural heritage of India. Millets are not only packed with nutrients, but they also provide a sustainable solution that benefits both our well-being and the livelihoods of our farmers,” said Chef Ravi Kant, Executive Chef at The Lalit New Delhi.

The Healthy Millet Menu, available from July 20th to August 20th, offers an enticing selection of millet-based dishes that cater to diverse tastes and preferences. From Foxtail Millet and Barnyard Millet to Finger Millet and Kodo Millet, each variety brings its unique flavors and nutritional benefits to the table. Dishes such as Crunchy Edamame and Amaranth Salad, Thai Spiced Infused Foxtail and Pomelo Salad, Crunchy Quinoa Bites, and Ragi Idlis are just a glimpse of the gastronomic extravaganza that awaits diners.

To further promote millets and their health advantages, each guest received a box of delightful home-made ragi cookies along with a booklet detailing the origins and benefits of these grains. The Lalit Group’s dedication to sustainable farming practices and supporting local farmers was evident in their commitment to incorporating millets into their menus, thereby creating a rising demand for this traditional crop.

“The response to ‘Shree Anna’ has been overwhelming, with our guests relishing the unique flavors and health benefits of millets. This initiative is not only a culinary journey but also a step towards promoting eco-friendly practices and supporting our farmers,” said Mr. Rajesh Khanna, CEO of The Lalit Suri Hospitality Group.

With The Lalit Group leading the charge, millets are set to take center stage in the culinary world, benefiting both consumers and farmers alike.
