BJP Leader Criticizes Ex-Minister for Comparing Siddaramaiah to Lord Ram as ‘Anti-Hindu’

The ex-minister stated that Siddaramaiah is likened to “our Rama” and emphasized that it to be placed within the innermost chamber of the temple would represent “BJP’s Ram.”

On Monday, Holalkere Anjaneya, a former Karnataka minister and Congress leader, sparked a series of heated reactions from opposition leaders by drawing a comparison between Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Lord Ram.

Responding to reports that the Chief Minister may not attend the January 22 inauguration of Lord Ram’s temple in Ayodhya due to the absence of a formal invitation, Anjaneya stated in this context that Siddaramaiah is akin to “our Rama.” He further mentioned that the deity to be placed within the innermost chamber of the temple would symbolize “BJP’s Ram.”

This triggered a heated exchange in the southern state, particularly as the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and various right-wing groups eagerly await the grand inauguration of the Temple.

“He (Siddaramaiah) represents our Ram. There’s no need for him to attend the consecration event in Ayodhya. He can instead pay his respects in his hometown, which houses a Ram temple. The deity to be installed there symbolizes the BJP’s Ram.

Invitations are being extended only to BJP members, and they are engaging in devotional songs. Let them proceed with that. Our Ram is omnipresent, residing in our hearts,” expressed the Congress leader.
