Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust Plans Meeting for Ram Temple Consecration

The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, responsible for the construction and management of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, is set to convene a crucial meeting on Thursday. The primary focus of the discussions will be the idol of Lord Ram, slated to be installed inside the sanctum sanctorum during the grand opening on January 22.

Sources indicate that the meeting will delve into the intricate preparations for the consecration ceremony, covering various aspects of the historic event. Another significant agenda item is the selection of the idol of Ram Lalla, with trust secretary Champat Rai announcing that a 51-inch tall idol reflecting a five-year-old Ram Lalla will be chosen from three designs. The criteria for selection include divineness and a child-like appearance.

During Wednesday’s announcements, Rai provided insights into the architectural marvel of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi temple. The construction utilized an unprecedented 21-22 lakh cubic feet of stone, including a foundation of a 56-layered artificial rock and a plinth comprising 17,000 granite blocks. The temple structure incorporates around five lakh cubic feet of pink-colored sandstone from Bharatpur, Rajasthan, while the sanctum sanctorum features pure white Makrana marble.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is slated to attend the consecration ceremony on January 22, marking a historic moment. Preparations for the event are in full swing, attracting dignitaries and people from various walks of life. Prior to the temple ceremony, Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate the Ayodhya airport and the revamped railway station on Saturday, underscoring the significance of these transformative initiatives.
