10 booked in UP after mining mafia clash inside the police station

Ten people have been booked by the police for resorting to a fight inside a police station in Uttar Pradesh’s Mainpuri, as reported by ANI. The arrested are reportedly from two rival groups, presumably the mining mafia.

A police officer was on his way to report for duty for Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav’s scheduled visit to the district when he saw the fight breaking out, as informed by the police.

Those involved in the incident were then brought to the Auncha Gate police post.

A video of the incident has gone viral on social media that shows members of the rival groups assaulting each other while police personnel attempts to stop them.

ANI quoted Santosh Kumar, Deputy SP of Mainpuri as saying, “Two tractor drivers named Anuj Kumar and Vipin Kumar along with their group members clashed with each other and were brought to the police post. They continued their fight inside the station. Following this, four persons were booked under Section 191 and action has been taken against six other persons.”
