In a major victory for security forces, 30 Maoists were killed in an ongoing encounter along the Narayanpur-Dantewada border in Chhattisgarh. The operation, conducted by the District Reserve Guard (DRG) and Special Task Force (STF), began yesterday after intelligence reports indicated a significant Maoist presence in the area.
According to sources, contact with the Maoists was established at 12:30 pm today. The encounter, which is still underway, has led to the recovery of multiple assault rifles, including AK-series weapons.
Security forces had launched combing operations in the villages of Govel, Nendur, and Thulthuli, under Orcha and Barsur police stations, after receiving intelligence about the presence of Maoists. The battle erupted near the forests of Nendur-Thulthuli. While many Maoists have been neutralized, sources said that a few militants have retreated deeper into the forest, and the forces are cautiously pursuing them.
This operation represents a significant breakthrough in the ongoing battle against Maoist insurgency in the region and stands as one of the most successful missions in recent years.
