On Sunday, at least 42,000 women participated in the aarti at the renowned Shreemant Dagdusheth Halwai Ganesh Temple in Pune, Maharashtra, as the vibrant ten-day Ganesh Chaturthi festival, which commenced on September 7, continues. In addition to the aarti, the women also recited the ‘Ganapati Atharvasirsha’ at the temple, adding to the festival’s spiritual fervor.
In Mumbai, devotees flocked to the ‘Lalbaugcha Raja’ Ganesh Mandal in central Mumbai to seek darshan of the deity. Over the past few days, numerous Ganpati idols have been paraded through grand processions by various mandals, contributing to the festival’s festive atmosphere.
Treasurer of Dagduseth Halwai Ganpati Trust, Mahesh Suryawanshi says, “On the festival of Rishi Panchami, 42,000 women performed pooja. India World Record also took cognizance of it and has given us a certificate…”
On Saturday, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and other prominent leaders officially welcomed Lord Ganesh to his residence in south Mumbai, marking the beginning of the ten-day celebrations with great enthusiasm and pomp.
