An old video of Vivek Oberoi praising the Bishnoi community has resurfaced online amid rising threats to Salman Khan, following the recent assassination of politician Baba Siddique by the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.

Amid Threats To Salman Khan, Old Video Of Vivek Oberoi Praising Bishnoi Community Resurfaces

An old video of actor Vivek Oberoi praising the Bishnoi community has resurfaced online, shortly after the assassination of Mumbai politician Baba Siddique. The politician was shot dead in what the Lawrence Bishnoi gang claimed as retaliation. In the wake of this, security for actor Salman Khan has been significantly heightened, as the Bishnoi gang had previously issued threats against him.

The resurfaced video shows Vivek Oberoi speaking at an event in Dubai last year, where he lauded the Bishnoi community for their compassion towards animals, especially fawns. In the video, Oberoi said, “In every household, including mine, we feed cow’s milk to our kids. There’s only one community in the whole world – the Bishnoi community – where, if a fawn’s mother dies, Bishnoi mothers take the fawn in their laps and feed it milk, just like they would their own child. You won’t find this anywhere else in the world.”

Baba Siddique’s Assassination And Bishnoi’s Threats

Baba Siddique, a prominent figure in the Sharad Pawar-led NCP faction, was gunned down in Mumbai on Saturday. The Lawrence Bishnoi gang has claimed responsibility for his murder. The gang, known for its animosity towards Salman Khan due to his alleged involvement in the 1998 blackbuck poaching case, had vowed to target individuals associated with the actor. The blackbuck is a sacred animal for the Bishnoi community, making this a long-standing issue.

The 66-year-old Siddique was ambushed by three shooters outside the office of his son, Zeeshan Siddique, who is also an MLA. Baba Siddique was shot six times and was declared dead upon arrival at the hospital.

Increased Security For Salman Khan

Following the murder, four suspects, including Gurmail Baljit Singh (23), Dharmaraj Rajesh Kashyap (19), and Pravin Lonkar, have been arrested. Another shooter, Shivkumar Gautam, is currently missing. Salman Khan, who shared a close bond with Baba Siddique, rushed to Lilavati Hospital in Bandra after hearing the news of the politician’s shooting.

Salman Khan has been the target of multiple threats from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang over the years. Earlier this year, bullets were fired outside his Bandra home, and a letter left for his father, Salim Khan, stated that the Khans would face the same fate as singer Sidhu Moose Wala, who was killed in Punjab in 2022.

Bollywood’s Biggest Feud Ended By Baba Siddique

Baba Siddique was well-connected within the film industry and is remembered for playing a key role in ending one of Bollywood’s most famous feuds. In 2013, at his annual Iftaar party, Siddique facilitated a reconciliation between Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan, who hadn’t spoken in five years following a dispute at a 2008 party. This patch-up became one of the most talked-about moments in Bollywood.
