“A Final Blow”: AAP Declares Grand Showdown Following Arvind Kejriwal’s Arrest

One day before the massive march planned to protest Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s arrest, Aam Aadmi Party leader Atishi stated that the Opposition would present a united front in the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections. Her comments arrive amidst numerous reports indicating discord among parties within the INDIA alliance, which have united to contest against the ruling BJP in the elections.

Last week, the Enforcement Directorate arrested Arvind Kejriwal in connection with an alleged money laundering case related to the Delhi liquor policy. The case revolves around accusations of corruption and money laundering in the formulation and implementation of the Delhi government’s excise policy for 2021-22, which was subsequently annulled.

AAP, along with various other opposition leaders, will take to the streets of Delhi tomorrow to protest against the arrest. Key leaders from the INDIA bloc, including Rahul Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge, Sharad Pawar, Uddhav Thackeray, Akhilesh Yadav, and Tejashwi Yadav, are set to participate in the ‘maha rally’ at Delhi’s Ramlila Maidan.

“INDIA alliance is one. When the (Arvind Kejriwal) arrest was taking place, big Congress leaders were present there. All the leaders of the alliance had raised their voice regarding this,” Atishi said at a press conference.

“Arvind Kejriwal’s arrest is the last attack on the murder of democracy, regarding which the opposition will also raise its voice tomorrow,” she added.

AAP leader Gopal Rai expressed anticipation of a significant turnout in tomorrow’s protest, asserting that widespread discontent has arisen among the public since the arrest of the democratically elected Chief Minister of Delhi by the BJP-led central government. He mentioned that individuals from various societal strata, including students, young people, and members of Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs), are anticipated to participate in the rally.
