Adani Green conferred with prestigious ‘Platinum’ Environment Award 2022

Adani Green Energy Ltd (AGEL), the world’s largest solar power developer and the renewable energy arm of the diversified Adani portfolio companies, has been conferred with the prestigious ‘Platinum Award’ by Grow Care India Environment Management Awards 2022 for outstanding achievement in the Environment Management category. The award was given by Shri Faggan Singh Kulaste, Minister of State, Ministry of Rural Development, GoI.

Grow Care India had invited nominations from companies and their units demonstrating the highest level of commitment and concern in environmental management, as well as organisations willing to enhance and improve their own performance. The award was announced following the paper presentation to an expert panel of jury members and the assessment was made based on the organisation’s environmental commitment, risk management approach, and initiatives to achieve the targets.

This award recognises AGEL’s outstanding contributions, commitments, and actions that have a positive impact on the environment. The organisation’s dynamic approach towards environment and sustainability can be seen in its robust governance structure, operations and CSR initiatives. All operating sites of AGEL have been certified single-use plastic free. Also, AGEL’s 100% operating capacity has been certified Zero Waste to Landfill (ZWL) in FY23 by Intertek. AGEL is committed to achieving water neutrality for >200 MW plants by FY25. It is signatory to the India Business and Biodiversity Initiative and is committed to conducting business with ‘No Net Loss’ to biodiversity. The organisation is currently engaging with its value chain partners to further decarbonise the supply chain.
