Two people arrived at the Taj Mahal on Saturday with Gangajal (holy Ganges water) and poured it on the tomb in the mausoleum’s basement before any response could be made. This created a significant stir at the Taj Mahal and throughout the city.
The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) has apprehended the individuals. The All India Hindu Mahasabha has taken credit for the action.
Hindu Mahasabha officials Manish Pandit and Sanjay Jat have stated that offering Gangajal at the Taj Mahal is their right, and they plan to continue doing so.
A video of the event was recorded by a passerby. The two individuals, Vinesh and Shyam from Mathura, have yet to be officially confirmed by the police. The footage, posted on X (formerly Twitter) by @SachinGuptaUP, has received numerous reactions from the public.
Previously, in 2019, Meena Diwakar attempted to offer Kanwar at the Taj Mahal and conducted Shiva Aarti there. According to reports, she faces six legal cases related to these actions, all involving her attempts to offer Kanwar and perform Shiva Aarti at the monument.
