The Centre will hold an all-party meeting in the national capital today ahead of the Budget Session.
For the smooth operation of Parliament, the government is expected to seek cooperation from the opposition. Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi has called the meeting at midday in the Parliament Annexe Building.

The opposition parties are likely to raise topics that they want to discuss in Parliament during the conference.

On January 30 afternoon, NDA floor leaders will gather to strategize floor cooperation.

The Budget Session, which will be heavily focused on the government’s financial agenda, will be divided into two sections.

It will begin with President Droupadi Murmu’s address to the two Houses of Parliament in joint session. Following the President’s address, the Economic Survey will be tabled.

On February 1, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will deliver the Union Budget. The Union Budget 2023-24 could be the final complete budget before the Lok Sabha elections in 2024.

The first phase of the session will begin on January 31 and continue through February 13. The debate in both Houses on the ‘Motion of Thanks’ to the President’s address will culminate with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s response.

Following a hiatus for parliamentary committees, the Parliament will reconvene to consider the demand for funding from several ministries. The second instalment will begin on March 13 and will last until April 6.

The Money Bill is passed following a discussion on grant demand, and it represents the end of the budget process. Both Houses of Parliament passed nine bills during the Monsoon Session.
