Amit Shah Warns Against Congress Alleged Plan to Implement Muslim Personal Law If Elected in Lok Sabha Elections 2024

During a rally in Assam ahead of the Lok Sabha Elections 2024, Union Home Minister Amit Shah launched a scathing attack on the Congress party, alleging that they have pledged to establish Muslim Personal Law if they come to power. Shah’s remarks come amidst the intensified campaigning by political parties to secure public support ahead of the first voting phase scheduled to commence on April 19.

Addressing a gathering in Assam, Shah criticized the Congress manifesto, stating, “Congress has mentioned in its manifesto that if they come to power, they will establish Muslim Personal Law.” He juxtaposed this claim with the initiatives taken by the current government, highlighting measures such as the ban on child marriages implemented by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and the introduction of the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) in Uttarakhand.

Shah urged voters to make a decisive choice between the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and the alliance led by Rahul Gandhi, termed as the INDIA bloc. “You have to decide on April 19 who will be your MP, which party will form the government, and who shall be the next Prime Minister,” Shah emphasized. He presented the voters with two contrasting options, urging them to vote with the vision of ensuring Modi’s re-election for a third term and securing a BJP-led government with a substantial mandate of over 400 seats.

The Lok Sabha Elections 2024, scheduled to be held in seven phases, will commence on April 19 and conclude on June 1, 2024, with the counting of votes set for June 4, 2024. As the electoral campaign gains momentum, political parties are intensifying their efforts to sway public opinion and secure electoral victory.
