Andhra Pradesh Elections: TDP, JSP Announces their First Joint List of Candidates

The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and Jana Sena Party (JSP) announced their initial slate of candidates for the upcoming Andhra Pradesh assembly elections during a press conference in Undavalli on Saturday.

TDP Chief N Chandrababu Naidu expressed readiness for the electoral battle, emphasizing the alliance’s aim for a brighter future for Andhra Pradesh. He described the TDP-JSP candidate list as both inclusive and groundbreaking, highlighting its representation of fresh faces from backward communities and women.

Of the 118 candidates listed, the TDP will contest 94 seats, with the Jana Sena Party contesting in 24 seats. Chandrababu Naidu reiterated the party’s dedication to the welfare of the state’s five crore citizens over individual interests. He also addressed concerns regarding alleged irregularities by the ruling YSRCP, including claims of fake votes and voter bribery.

Naidu stated that the TDP has reported these allegations to the Election Commission to ensure fair elections. He underscored the importance of grassroots support for their campaign, urging the public to financially support the candidates.

Additionally, the TDP release highlighted that among its 94 candidates, 23 are newcomers, and the joint list includes individuals with various educational backgrounds, including post-graduate and graduate degrees, as well as doctors and PhD holders.

Meanwhile, the Jana Sena Party announced candidates for five seats, with plans to reveal the remaining 19 soon, according to JSP sources.
