In honour of winning two Oscars, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Anurag Singh Thakur will hold a screening of both Oscar-winning films in Parliament for MPs next week in Delhi. The screenings of these films, “RRR” and “The Elephant Whisperers,” are expected to take place next week in Parliament’s Bal Yogi Auditorium. According to sources close to the situation, there is also a plan in the works to honour the artists and crew of both films.
In fact, Vijayendra Prasad, the writer of “RRR” and other blockbusters such as “Baahubali,” is a Rajya Sabha nominee. RRR’s ‘Naatu Naatu’ song and short film ‘The Elephant Whisperers’ were both nominated for an Oscar.
Both ‘Team RRR’ and ‘The Elephant Whisperers’ won Oscars at the 95th Academy Awards, which were held at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, California, marking a watershed moment for Indian filmmakers and audiences. M.M. Keeravaani composed the music for ‘Naatu Naatu,’ and Chandrabose wrote the lyrics.
The song had previously won awards on a global scale before winning the Oscar. ‘Naatu Naatu’ won the Golden Globe for ‘Best Original Song’ earlier this month. Five days later, ‘RRR’ received two more Critics Choice Awards, one for ‘Best Song’ and another for ‘Best Foreign Language Film.’
