Justice should be served to all, says Arjun Ram Meghwal after taking charge as Law Minister

Arjun Ram Meghwal announced that justice should be served to all shortly after taking over the Law and Justice Ministry.

Talking to the media, he said “Justice should be served to all and cases pending in courts should be as less as possible”. He responded to a media question about the purported conflict between the judiciary and the central government by saying that there is no difference between them.

Meghwal also clarified that the forthcoming Rajasthan assembly elections were unrelated to his appointment as the minister of law. As Kiren Rijiju’s replacement, Arjun Ram Meghwal assumed independent responsibility at the Ministry of Law and Justice on Thursday.

As Minister of State (Independent charge) of Law and Justice, Arjun Ram Meghwal received good wishes from Kiren Rijiju. Kiren Rijiju has since moved to the Ministry of Earth Sciences from the Ministry of Law and Justice.

After being reshuffled and having his portfolio transferred from the Ministry of Law and Justice to the Ministry of Earth and Sciences, MP Kiren Rijiju said it had been an honor to serve as the Union Minister of Law and Justice.

“It has been a privilege and an honour to serve as Union Minister of Law and Justice under the guidance of Hon’ble PM Narendra Modi ji,” Rijiju said.

Rijiju expressed his gratitude to the Chief Justice of India, Dr. Justice DY Chandrachud as well as other judges and told “I thank Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud, all Judges of the Supreme Court, Chief Justices and Judges of High Courts, Lower Judiciary and entire Law officers for the huge support in ensuring delivering ease of Justice and providing legal services for our citizens.”

Kiren went on to say “I look forward to fulfilling the vision of Hon’ble PM Narendra Modi ji in the Earth Sciences Ministry with the same zeal and vigour I have imbibed as a humble karyakarta of BJP,”

Kiren Rijiju takes Earth Sciences ministry as Arjun Ram Meghwal becomes Minister of Law and Justice

As per the statement from the President’s Secretariat on Thursday, Arjun Ram Meghwal has taken Kiren Rijiju’s place as the Union and Justice Minister in a significant Cabinet reshuffle. On the other hand, the Ministry of Earth Sciences has since been taken over by Kiren Rijijiu.

“The President of India, as advised by the Prime Minister, has been pleased to direct the following reallocation of portfolios among Ministers in the Union Council of Ministers, the portfolio of Ministry of Earth Sciences be assigned to Kiren Rijiju and Arjun Ram Meghwal, Minister of State be assigned the independent charge as Minister of State in the Ministry of Law and Justice in addition to his existing portfolios, in place of Shri Kiren Rijiju,” the official press release said.

On July 8, 2021, Rijiju assumed the position of Minister of Law and Justice. From May 2019 to July 2021, he was the Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Youth Affairs and Sports.
