Arvind Kejriwal Appeals To Supreme Court After Delhi HC Denies Plea To Cancel CBI Arrest

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has escalated his legal battle by approaching the Supreme Court, challenging the Delhi High Court’s recent decision. The High Court had refused to overturn the Central Bureau of Investigation’s (CBI) arrest warrant issued against Kejriwal in connection with the Delhi excise policy case.

The Delhi High Court’s ruling, delivered earlier this week, dismissed Kejriwal’s request to annul the arrest order, which was issued as part of an ongoing investigation into alleged irregularities in the Delhi excise policy. The policy, which involves the regulation and distribution of alcoholic beverages, has been under scrutiny amid accusations of corruption and mismanagement.

Kejriwal’s legal team has now turned to the Supreme Court, seeking intervention to quash the arrest warrant and challenge the High Court’s decision. The Chief Minister maintains that the charges are politically motivated and aimed at undermining his administration’s credibility.

No further details are available at this moment, and the Supreme Court’s response to the appeal is awaited.
